Rights and Responsibilities of the Editorial Board
The Editorial Board of Journal of Security Sciences has the responsibility to decide collectively which of the articles are published. The Editorial Board promotes academic integrity and recommends Guidelines on Good Publication Practice on (https://publicationethics.org) identified by COPE.
The Editorial Board has the right to withdraw articles which breach principles on academic integrity and contain plagiairised metarials. The Editorial Board has the right to examine plagiarism and misconduct allegation.
The Editorial Board evaluate submitted articles must not be submitted to any other peer reviewing process as the mandatory in terms of application. Accepting a manuscript for peer reviewing process does necessarily mean a confirmation for publication. Even the process of peer reviewing brings to a successful conclusion, approving of The Editorial Board is mandatory.
Rights and Responsibilities of Author
Articles and book reviews submitted to the Journal of Security Sciences have to be original works of the authors. Submitted manuscripts should not be submitted to any other peer reviewing process. The authors are responsible for the validity and confirmation of the bibliography. Plagiarism is not tolerated.
Author has the right to withdraw submitted manuscripts at any time before the approving of publication under the condition of informing The Board.
Even in case of translated manuscripts, author and the translator are both intellectual, scientific and legal responsible for the contents such as language, wording, ethics of all published manuscripts.
In case of requesting for corrections, the corrected manuscripts need to be submitted to The Board within 2 months.
In cases when the author disagrees with the feedbacks given by referees and Editorial Board, author has a right to inform his\her justification in a separate paper.
Responsibilities of Referees
The Journal applies a double-blind peer-review method. Referees are responsible for keeping the manuscripts confidential and not using the knowledge and information they encounter via manuscripts for personal gain. Referee is expected to evaluate manuscripts in 20 days. Referees must not share their reports or information about articles with others and they must not contact with the authors directly without the permission of Editor.
Referees should behave responsibly on potential academic integrity and they are brought to the editor’s attention. Referees are expected to be objective. Personal criticisms towards authors are accepted inappropriate.
